Elijah & Mary (Craig)

The birth - death dates given here are taken from their tombstones In Larlee Creek Cemetery.  But Mary's birthdays does not agree with the age given for her In the 1851 census.  The census shows Elijah Larlee, a blacksmith, aged 24 and Mary, his wife, aged 22.  Tombstones Inscriptions are often difficult to read.  Someone may have read "1824" Instead of "1829."  It Is very likely that Mary was born 1 January 1829.

Elijah built a store at the mouth of Hudd's Brook.  This store he operated from 1870 to 1873.  The Manly Craig ms says that Elijah died "from an abscess of the stomach."
